Is Clear Windshield Tint Worth It?

Tint Doesn't Have To Be Dark
You might be asking yourself, if the tint is clear then what's the point? Nowdays with ceramic technology there are window films available that are almost transparent and still block a lot of heat and uv rays. For starters, all tint blocks 99.9% of uv rays regardless of if its dark or light. As for heat, the thats a more complicated answer. Heat rejection will depend on 2 factors which are the type of tint material being used and how dark it is. Here at our shop in Sarasota we offer a virtually clear ceramic window film that blocks 80% of heat, WOW!
80% is already an impressive number considering the window tint is virtually clear. The difference this tint makes to your in-vehicle temperatures is huge for one main reason...the size of the windshield. Its no secret that the windshield is typically the biggest window on the car, and it also happens to be right infront of you. Adding this tint to the windshield is typically seen as more beneficial than tinting your side windows, especially when you consider that the windshield is more horizontal than your vehicles side windows and therefore gets more sun.
Additional Benefits
Along with the heat and uv rejection, you'll also get the added benefit of glare reduction. Window tint now days is specially designed to reduce glare. Of course, the darker you go, the more glare that will be cutout. However, a clear ceramic film will still do an excellent job at glare reduction while still maintaining good visibility through the windows.
